COMPETENCIES
Communication
Effectively listens to others; clearly and effectively presents and understands information orally and in writing; acquires, organizes, analyzes, interprets, maintains information needed to achieve school or team 21st century objectives. I communicated with parents/guardians at least one a week by taking the principal's message and sending it out via SchoolMessenger every Sunday. This gives families updates about the upcoming week and important reminders. Parents/Guardians have the option to receive the message either in an email or as a text message to their phone. It is also translated into 8 different languages.
Change ManagementEffectively engages staff and community in the change process in a manner that ensures their support of the change and its successful implementation. COVID 19 Protocols and Presentations. This is a letter to the staff that clarifies the new process of entering the building. It outlines three new locations, times, and health screeners. It explains the reason for the change and encourages staff to ask questions through an online platform that include a response platform for teachers to view additional questions about the process.

Conflict Management
Anticipates or seeks to resolve confrontations, disagreements, or complaints in a constructive manner. Using "The Law of Crucial Conversations", anytime I find myself stuck I work on me first, then during the conversation I look for a pool of shared meaning to bring together different perspectives. It important that I state my path and that I create a safe environment for discussion by being willing to explore others' paths and using active listening skills. From here, I do not let a meeting conclude without a move to action to establish/delegate who does what by when. In addition, I will follow up to ensure that all parties follow through on their action.

Creative Thinking
Customer Focus
Understands the students as customers of the work of schooling and the servant nature of leadership and acts accordingly. As the leader of the school, I have to analysis systems that will allow for quality instruction. Structuring Friday mornings as "FaceTime Friday," where grade levels/admin/support participate in targeted intervention and creating a call list based off of data. Servicing students that are at-risk for either attendance, behavior, or curriculum (ABCs) of receiving a quality education.

Delegation
Effectively assigns work tasks to others in ways that provide learning experiences for them and in ways that ensure the efficient operation of the school. Here is where I delegated safety and protocol requirements for a new hire at the end of Quarter 1. I provided the information, a due date, and encouraged questions from the Beginning Teacher's mentor.

Dialogue/Inquiry
Is skilled in creating a risk free environment for engaging people in conversations that explore issues, challenges or bad relationships that are hindering school performance. This is response to the Capitol incident on Jan 6th, 2021 that I sent out to our community. In addition to this, all administration opened up the floor for students, staff, and
community members to join us on Jan 7th after
school from 2:00pm-3:00pm. It is important to open up this dialogue among our stakeholders to address questions and concerns.

Emotional Intelligence
Roll-out of Second Step program in Core instruction Homerooms on SEL Mondays and then in electives to connect with students and build relationships. Awareness of students' social emotional learning states throughout the school year.

Environmental Awareness
Becomes aware and remains informed of external and internal trends, interests and issues with potential impacts on school policies, practices, procedures and positions. On Tuesday evenings, I listen to the Board Meeting and Work Sessions to understand impact of the Board of Education's decisions to open school in Plan B and stakeholder's perspectives. To be aware and informed of the policy being voted on and implemented at the school level.

Global Perspective
Judgment
Through TregoED decision-making process training, I can effectively reaching logical conclusions and making high quality decisions based on available information. Using SCAN in Situation Appraisal, I can give priority and caution to significant issues. Ultimately, I Analyze and interpret complex information to arrive at a critically thought-out decision.

Organizational Ability

Effectively plans and schedules one’s own and the work of others so that resources are used appropriately, such as scheduling the flow of activities and establishing procedures to monitor projects. For virtual learning and Plan B integration, I created a Google Classroom Times and Link sheet to organize our teachers classrooms and allow immediate access to each teacher's classroom for homeroom, Core 1, Core 2, Core 3 and Core 4. This is organized by grade level and under the instructional time. There is also a column for the # of visits as the administration team will use this to complete walkthroughs and be able to communicate with each other so that the same teacher does not receive all the walkthroughs and some teachers do not receive any walkthroughs. This video instructs teachers how to add in their hyperlink their Google Classroom into the schedule.

I am always looking for new ways to improve as I believe in the value of #lifeLONG learning. This is an example of a peer assessment I used the feedback to adjust some of my artifacts. In addition, I scheduled weekly meetings with my mentor to give feedback about my leadership. |
Responsiveness
Does not leave issues, inquiries or requirements for information go unattended. Creates a clearly delineated structure for responding to requests/situations in an expedient manner. Emails/phone calls are answered in a 24 hour period, if not sooner. Here I response on the same day just a few hours later with a throughout explanation about School Improvement Subcommittees.

Effectively assumes responsibility. Recognizes when a decision is required. Takes prompt action as issues emerge. Resolves short-term issues while balancing them against long-term goals. After the first NC Check-In, I complied an At-A-Glance document to record the results of our student achievement in order to work toward an action plan for progression.

Through BestNC, attending the Per Pupil Expenditure Tool: Applications for School Leaders Principal Fellow Enrichment to evaluate correlations between PPE and school performance. I understand the interrelationships and impacts of school and district influences, systems and external stakeholders, and apply that understanding to advancing the achievement of the school or team. Then applying this knowledge to school performance and student growth matrix. Critically thinking about the outcomes for students and schools. |
Technology
Effectively utilizes the latest technologies to continuously improve the management of the school and enhance student instruction by using Google Suites. Certified Google for Education user with calendar, slides, sheets, forms, creating videos, and using docs to improve student learning and the teaching experience. Creating presentations, online breakout rooms, polls, gathering and analyzing data are few things that I have effectively used technology to guide my leadership role.

Time Management
Effectively uses available time to complete work tasks and activities that lead to the achievement of desired work or school results. Runs effective meetings.
As a leader, I use Google Calendar to plan out my month meetings and daily activities. To make the best use of my time, I schedule walkthroughs, PDPs, and tasks in-between my other commitments such as PLT meetings, SIT Meetings, Staff Meetings, and Teacher Planning periods. |
