Session1: I matter, You matter, We matter
Developing trust and respect from African American Students by creating an environment that supports their cultural identity. You don't have to share a race, background, or experience to connect with African American students. This courses used real life examples, provides doable strategies, sets expectations, and makes connections with African American students to create a safe and productive learning environment. Presented by LaManda Pryor, Ben Johnson, and Olufemi Adeniyi.
Session 2:Restorative Practice 2.0: Leading Restorative Circles
Repairing harm in the community incorporates a framework that is grounded on the values of showing respect, taking responsibility, and strengthening relationships. Participants reviewed several types of repairing harm circles and walk away with the tools necessary to facilitate there circles on their own. Presented by Michelle Bridgers and April Warren.
Session 3: Using Instructional Rounds to Connect, Reflect, and Innovate
Practice strategies used to implement site-based Instruction Rounds. Teachers and administrators collaborate and connec through observations focused on a target question. Observations carefully formatted into non-judgmental feedback, then inform the whole school, empowering teachers working towards common goals. Presented by Amanda Northup from the Exploris School.
